Man Arrested Near Trump Golf Course in California After Allegedly Monitoring Security

Police investigate outside Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes following the arrest of a man carrying firearms and ammunition.

California authorities have arrested a 38-year-old man after investigators said he was allegedly monitoring security operations around President Donald Trump's golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes ahead of a scheduled fundraising event.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies observed the suspect taking photographs and recording videos around Trump National Golf Club before President Trump's planned visit. Officials said his behavior raised concerns and prompted a closer investigation.

Firearms and Ammunition Recovered

After detaining the suspect, deputies searched his vehicle and reportedly discovered a loaded firearm and additional ammunition.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence, where they recovered multiple firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, body armor, and notebooks containing writings that authorities described as concerning.

Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional evidence is being examined.

Multiple Weapons Charges Filed

The suspect has been charged with several firearms-related offenses, including:

  • Illegal possession of firearms
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of large quantities of ammunition

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges during his initial court appearance.

A judge also ordered the suspect to stay away from Trump National Golf Club and prohibited him from possessing firearms while the case proceeds.

Authorities Say No Credible Threat Identified

Despite the weapons discovery, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department emphasized that investigators have not identified a credible threat against President Donald Trump or the public at this time.

Officials said the arrest was made out of an abundance of caution as security preparations were underway for the presidential fundraiser.

Federal and local law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the incident.

Investigation Continues

Authorities are reviewing digital evidence, surveillance footage, and materials recovered during the investigation to determine whether the suspect had any additional plans or connections.

No further arrests have been announced, and officials say there is currently no indication of an organized plot.
